Frequently Asked Questions

Find Answers To All Your Questions

Is this tablet good for work and professional use?

Absolutely. The rugged tablet is built for demanding work environments, whether you’re a sailor, construction worker, field engineer, outdoor adventurer or warehouse operator. Its durable design, long-lasting battery, bright display and smooth performance make it a reliable tool for both everyday tasks and tough on-site conditions.

What is the warranty on ProjectX Tablets?

Our standard warranty is 12 months from the date of supply.

Please note:
The tablets are designed with weatherproof seals for the USB-C, SIM and SD card ports. To maintain their water-resistant properties, these covers must be properly closed at all times. Any damage resulting from water ingress due to unsealed or incorrectly sealed port covers is not covered under warranty.

Can the tablet survive drops and impacts?

Yes. The tablet is MIL-STD-810H certified, meaning it’s built to withstand drops from up to 1 meter onto concrete, as well as shocks, vibrations and extreme environmental conditions.

Is the Tough ProjectX Tablet waterproof?

Yes. The Tough ProjectX Tablet is IP68 and IP69K rated, meaning it’s fully waterproof and can withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, provided all port covers (USB-C, SIM and SD card) are properly sealed to prevent water ingress.

What maps are included with the ProjectX Tablet?

With ProjectX you can tailor your map collection using our flexible "Pick n’ Mix" option, allowing you to select exactly the regions you need.

If you’d prefer a preloaded setup, our South West Pacific tablet package is also available, perfect if that’s the region you plan to sail.

How do I mount the ProjectX tablet at the helm?

We do not currently sell a dedicated helm mount, but we recommend a reliable third-party mounting solution available from Burnsco New Zealand. The combination below has proven to be popular and effective for many of our users.

Recommended Mounting Setup:

1. RAILBLAZA Screen Grabba II with StarPort

2. RAILBLAZA RailMount Combo

Tip: Ensure that the mount is positioned where the tablet is protected from excessive spray and direct sun when not in use. A shaded or semi-protected helm position is ideal.

ProjectX GPS Accuracy Fix - A-GPS Reset Guide
